HONEY HOLD THIS
My name is Karen Cumby, of Bluefield, WV. This is my story and I am sticking to it! I got started shooting about 13 years ago at Triangle Sportsmen's Club, first with PPC and Action Pistol. I then went to my first Cowboy Action shoot with the Railtown Rowdys, not as a shooter, but as a helper to the cook. By the time the next match rolled around, I was ready to play and have been hooked ever since.
Three years ago it came time to join SASS. I started thinking long and hard about an alias. Over the years at Triangle Sportsmen's Club when it was time to work on range improvements, my main job was to hold things in place. My husband, Jerry aka Railtown Kid SASS #49513, and others would call me over and say, “Here honey hold this.” (due to my great skills with tools). So, it only seemed natural that Honey Hold This SASS #49514 was born.
I shoot in Ladies Modern class with Ruger .357 Blackhawks, Rossi Model 92 and my favorite model 97 shotgun.
Over the years, the best part of Cowboy Action shooting has been the people I have met and friendships I have made. Going to a match it is like attending a family reunion. It is great to hear the stories others tell of their adventures and the laughs we get from most of them. Hope to see you at the next match!
