Scarlet Angel
Scarlet's mother, Sierra Rose, had her on a horse
before she could walk. Her father, Johnny Longknife taught her how to shoot
when she was about age 5.
In May of 2001, Scarlet heard about a nearby club that shot off of horseback
and a sport called Cowboy Action Shooting. Naturally she had to investigate.
After a short introduction to the friendly folks of the High Sierra Bounty
Hunters she was loaned a horse and .45 to "Just try out." Needless
to say she has been hooked ever since.
Scarlet shot at local matches for almost two years before she lost her shooting
partner. She is currently working with her new horse "Buddy" and
hopes to have him in the arena in 2006. Meanwhile she has kept active with
her local club, The California Range Riders, by keeping score and helping
out whenever she can.
In September 2005, Scarlet and her husband, Wicked Wayze, traveled to Virginia
and were invited to shoot with the Dusty Trail Posse at Lost River (their
first shoot). Luckily over the years Scarlet has collected a Winchester 94
and a Huglu SXS along with her Ruger Vaqueros, so she had guns to use. It
was great and now she is looking forward to more CAS shooting....both mounted
and ground.
